Set deep within the Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park, Shumba Camp offers an extraordinary safari experience in one of Africa’s most remote and wildlife-rich regions. Elevated on wooden platforms, the camp provides sweeping views of the floodplains, where vast herds of antelope roam and prides of Busanga’s famous tree-climbing lions stalk their prey. Open from June to October, the camp ensures optimal game viewing during the dry season, when wildlife congregates in astonishing numbers.

The camp features six spacious luxury safari tents, including one family tent, all designed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Each tent offers panoramic views of the plains, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and an open-plan lounge area, ensuring the perfect balance of comfort and immersion in the wild. Elevated walkways link the tents to the central lodge, which houses a lounge, dining area, and firepit, where guests can relax and take in the magic of the African night.

Dining at Shumba Camp is an experience in itself, with gourmet meals served under the stars, in the bush, or within the intimate boma.
