Where in Africa shall we go?

A Timeless Safari Experience in the Heart of the Makgadikgadi
Perched on the edge of Botswana's expansive Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Jack's Camp offers a unique blend of vintage safari charm and modern luxury. Established in 1993 to honor the legacy of the renowned explorer Jack Bousfield, the camp provides an unparalleled window into the captivating landscapes and rich cultural heritage of the Kalahari Desert.

The camp features nine spacious and opulently furnished canvas tents, each meticulously designed to evoke the romantic ambiance of a 1940s East African safari. Measuring 135 square meters, these lavish tents boast en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers, private plunge pools, and expansive verandas that offer sweeping views of the shimmering salt pans. Antique furnishings, Persian rugs, and natural history artifacts adorn the interiors, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

Culinary experiences at Jack's Camp are both refined and immersive. Guests can savor gourmet meals inspired by local flavors, served in a communal mess tent filled with comfortable sofas, a small library, and an antique pool table. A large, central swimming pool and a brand-new spa tent offer additional spaces for relaxation and reflection between safari adventures.

A highlight of any stay is the opportunity to explore the Kalahari alongside the indigenous San Bushmen. Guided walks led by Naru-speaking San guides provide profound insights into traditional survival skills, hunting techniques, and the rich cultural heritage of one of Africa's oldest communities. Day and night game drives reveal the diverse wildlife of the conservancy, including sightings of the black-maned Kalahari lion, cheetah, brown hyena, and the elusive pangolin. The camp's private status allows for flexible safari activities, including night drives and extended bush walks, offering guests a comprehensive and intimate wildlife experience.
