Where in Africa shall we go?

A Classic Safari Experience in the Heart of Hwange
Nestled within a grove of ancient false mopane trees in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park, Davison's Camp offers an intimate and authentic safari experience. Named in honor of Ted Davison, the park's first warden, the camp embodies the timeless spirit of African exploration. Overlooking expansive grassy plains and a shallow waterhole, the camp provides guests with front-row seats to a continuous parade of wildlife, especially during the dry winter months when animals gather in large numbers.

The camp features nine airy en-suite tents, including a family unit, thoughtfully designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Each tent is adorned with African décor and earthy tones, creating a serene atmosphere that complements the wilderness outside. From the comfort of their private verandas, guests can observe elephants, buffalo, and various plains game visiting the waterhole to quench their thirst.

Culinary experiences at Davison's Camp celebrate local flavors, with dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced produce, including indigenous grains and fruits. Guests can enjoy sundowners and snacks at nearby pans, followed by dinners around the campfire in the boma, where meals are often prepared over open flames, enhancing the rustic safari ambiance.

Beyond the luxurious accommodations and delectable cuisine, Davison's Camp offers a range of activities designed to immerse guests in the rich biodiversity of Hwange National Park. Morning and evening game drives provide opportunities to spot predators and their prey, while guided walking safaris offer a more intimate exploration of the bush. The camp's sunken hide, situated at the edge of the waterhole, allows for up-close wildlife viewing, offering a unique perspective as animals arrive for a drink. Additionally, visits to the local community and the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit provide insights into conservation efforts and the region's cultural heritage.
